Q: Where does the guest information come from?
A: Guest information comes from the Fidelio Front Office, and Sales & Catering systems.
Q: Does AGRS use a lot of disk space?
A: The disk space for essential program files is fixed (around 10MB). However, the disk space needed for the data (photo) files will increase gradually. As more photos are collected, more space is needed. 1000 photos will take up approximately 200MB of disk space.
Q: Can more than one user use the system?
A: Yes, AGRS is a multi-user system.
Q: So many users access to the guest record, will there be any chances that guest information is modified, deleted...etc.?
A: AGRS acts like a reporting system. Users can view information only and cannot modify or delete guest records.
Q: Is there any security control?
A: Yes, the system provides different user groups with various security levels.
Q: How can I edit guest information?
A: If any modification is needed, users should make such edition in the Front Office system, or in Sales & Catering system, and the changes will be reflected in AGRS.
Q: How to get photo files of guest?
A: There are many ways that you can get photo files. You can get photo files with a guest photo on hand. In this case, a scanner is needed to store the photo into computer. You can download image file of guest from Internet, or take guest photos with digital camera, or receive image files from other hotels.
Q: What size of photo should I get?
A: Any size. The photo will be adjusted to fit into a fixed-size box in the system.
Q: What format will the image file be stored?
A: JPG format.
Q: How does AGRS access to the Fidelio Front Office, and Sales & Catering systems?
A: AGRS, Fidelio Front Office, and Sales & Catering systems should be installed in the same network (LAN). AGRS will access these two systems according to the paths defined in the system.
Q: What should I do with the Front Office and Sales & Catering systems?
A: Nothing needs to be done to these two systems. Simply define the path of the two systems into AGRS, and it will be able to read the guest information from them.
Q: Will there be any effect on the Front Office and Sales & Catering systems after installing AGRS?
A: No. AGRS reads information from the Fidelio Front Office and Sales & Catering systems. It's the same as when you print a report from Fidelio.
Q: What if AGRS fails, will the Front Office and Sales & Catering systems be affected?
A: AGRS is an independent system. It will not affect the operation of the Front Office and Sales & Catering systems should it fail.
Q: What if the Front Office and Sales & Catering systems fail, will AGRS be affected?
A: AGRS will not be able to read information from the Front Office and Sales & Catering systems if the two systems fail.
Q: What kind of platform does AGRS run on?
A: AGRS runs on Windows 9X, NT, Windows 2000, ME and XP.
Q: Which version of the Fidelio Front Office, and Sales & Catering systems does AGRS support?
A: For the Fidelio Front Office system, AGRS supports DOS and Windows versions with Xbase. Meaning Fidelio version 3.XX to 7.XX. For the Sales & Catering system, it supports versions 2.XX to 6.XX.
Q: What kind of image file does AGRS support?
A: The system supports image files in the format of: JPG, GIF, BMP, PCX, DIB, JIF, RLE, and TGA.
Q: Where will the photos be stored?
A: Photos are stored in the data folder of AGRS.
